Take a deep breath in for a count of 4 (picturing the numbers in your head as you count them out.) Hold that breath for another count of 4. Exhale for a count of 4. Hold that for a count of 4. Begin again. (You may also count backwards as you do this 4,3,2,1.) Take time to do this mediation for about 5 minutes until you can breath naturally and still have your mind relax. Then breath in and out the colors of the rainbow for another 10 minutes and congratulate yourself because you just meditated for a total of 15 minutes! Try this once a day and as you give your brain and body a break you will feel so much better about your day or situations that you have created! Good Luck and positive energy to you!
STOP! Stop just for the rest of the night. Stop thinking all about that which is making you feel ill. Stop worrying about ‘stuff’. Stop worrying about other people. REST! Rest your mind. Rest your body from the tension that you mentally are making. Rest your soul. Just for tonight. The thoughts can resume tomorrow. But tonight it’s all about making peace with self. Actually taking a moment to say “I love you” to yourself. “I respect you” to yourself. If you can care for things and people in the rest of the world than you sure as heck can care for yourself for one night!!!
I saw a man intently jogging this morning. Listening to his personal music through a set of earphones, looking strong and giving off an energy of joy, like he was truly enjoying doing what most would consider tedious. Maybe he was listening to a particularly uplifting song or maybe he was feeling the endorphins run through his system as he exercised his body. Either way, matters not, however, in that brief moment as I was driving my wonderful and sleepy children to school, I noticed him and I actually sat up taller in my seat. I did not sit up taller to be noticed, I sat up taller because he silently inspired me to also take care of myself, improve my posture and respect my own strength. This stranger, whom ever he was, had no idea that he inspired someone else while he was caring for himself. Yet that is what we all do from time to time, without notice. We silently inspire others to lift themselves up, if only for a moment and a moment is all it takes. Here’s to all of you out there silently inspiring the world with your own inner beauty………….. Health and Happiness to all!
Working on a leaner, stronger stomach and core area? Try this…
While driving (because what else do you have to do other than day dream – which you can do at the same time.) Sit up straight and pull your abdominal muscles in toward your spine, do not hold your breath, breath normal, hold the contraction of these muscles in for as long as you can (work up to the time of one song on the radio) then release and relax for the equal amount of time (I like to try one song on, one song off – but this could depend on what type of music you listen to, don’t get all crazy and try to hold it for a song like – Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd, ha,ha) Good Luck (and please don’t forget that we should be drinking (daily) 1/2 our body weight, in ounces, of pure, fresh water!)
Want to feel good physically and mentally? Drink half your body weight in ounces of WATER! If you weight 120 lbs. you should consume 60 oz. of water a day. If you sweat a lot or drink caffeine or alcohol, you need to add more water to your original intake amount. Also, it is very important to have 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. of unrefined, natural sea salt that contains all its natural minerals! Not that yucky bleached to death pure sodium table salt. Our bodies need the salt and water mixture to run everything correctly including our hormones (which are tied in with our emotions and many other things that we are working on as a whole.) I really enjoy a brand of sea salt called ‘Real Salt’ although that salt does not supply Iodide which is a natural element that we need, however you can supplement in other ways. If you want more information on this water/salt and the body topic, please check out the books I have chosen on my main blog page. There are a few books on this subject that I loved reading and think you would enjoy, also. Good Luck and Happy Health To You and Yours!!
